HALO-FORCE's objectives are structured around eight SMART research goals:
(1) mapping wild halophyte populations,
(2) characterizing their nutrient density and stress resilience,
(3) identifying bioactive-rich ecotypes,
(4) profiling beneficial plant-microbiome interactions,
(5) genotyping for trait-linked markers,
(6) assessing reproductive fitness,
(7) validating agronomic performance in farmer-led nurseries, and
(8) testing food system potential in an innovation hub.
These steps ensure ecotypes are ecologically adapted, nutritionally valuable, and economically viable for low-input farming. |
